A start button of an automatic hand dryer, like an emergency button to make alert sound. In fact, I didn’t use the hand dryer because I was afraid of ringing.
Furthermore, every people who are going to use hand dryer have fully wet hands. In this case push-up type button can cause lots of problems. it’s dangerous (an electric shock will occur) and not clean.
I couldn’t think about the problems you metioned. Thanks for good points~ (I just hated the ugly, bulky, bad designed button.) Especially the “cleaning” problem seems to be much crucial.

They can easily protect that kind of crazy errors by a simple user research or observation. I think Microsoft already knew this problem will happen. B
